Gr Ch, MBISS, RUBISS, MRUBIS Bearstar Ko C.D. profile (from
Australian Rrs)
'Mister Ko'
Ko is Australia's most successful stud dog and
has surpassed every expectation for success in the all-breeds and specialty
rings. His sterling breed qualities, fabulous temperament, versatility and
endurance have easily made him one of the top RRs ever produced.
To further cement his place in the breed history Ko has reproduced his qualities
in his progeny. Ko's progeny include multi BIS and BISS
winners both in Australia and overseas. Progeny that has itself gone on to
produce BIS and BISS winners themselves. With three Grand Champions to his name
- all BIS winners! and a fourth in the making; Ko's legacy is of extraordinary
depth and width in the worldwide RR show scene.
Although approaching his 13th birthday Ko nevertheless gaited around the ring in
fine style this year to take Super Veteran in Show (Hound Club)TWICE! And loved
every moment of it :-)
At Specialty level Ko's record is extraordinary with multiple Best in Show
awards, holding the record for Best Headed Dog awards and topping that with
multiple Best Gaited and multiple Sires Progeny awards. Ko has won under
international and Australian breed specialists in 5 states of Australia.
In All-Breeds Ko has been awarded RUBIS (1000+ entries), multi class in show,
multi Best in Group etc. Royal Best of Breed wins in Queensland and Victoria are
amongst his many achievements.
To demonstrate his versatility Ko has also been awarded his Companion Dog
obedience title & Field Champion (QLCA).
Ko is Qld's only ROM (RRCI) awarded male with over 20 titled progeny and more on
the way. Two daughters have already achieved ROM status with at least one son
rapidly on his way as well.
Best of all Mister Ko is a wonderful companion and the best friend anyone could
ask for. He loves the applause of the showring but even more so cuddling up in
bed for a quiet snooze.

Ikimba Marimba (Iita) (13.08.1996-06.09.2003)
Iita`s owner Sanna Alkio, kennel Harjaselän:
Iita was our foundation
bitch and she has had 3 litters. Also all of her puppies have had beautiful
ridgies though two puppies had three crowns.
Iita was our sunshine - the kindest and happiest ridgeback we knew. She liked
ALL creatures, large and small - animals and people as well. Wagged her tail
very often and seemed to be interested in everything. She always knew how to
behave and seemed to find her right place in every situation. She never paniced
and wasn't afraid of anything. In the same time she had all kind of tricks on
her mind and played them every now and then. Iita resembled a perfect balance in
ridgeback - in character as well. And her temperament (among other things) made
her a superb mom for her puppies. She also loved to spend time with puppies,
even so much that we had to ask her to go out with us.
Iita has done extremely well in show rings. In 1999 she was the most succesfull
show ridgeback in Finland and made history beeing the first bitch ever to reach
such high points. Iita also did
some history becoming a first Finnish born ridgback bitch ever to become
International Champion. She received the needed CACIB from Hans W. Müller in St
Gallen, CH. Also a week later Mr Müller made her European Champion (she was bos)
in Tulln, AU.
